Leaderboard & Ratings
Rack Up uses the Elo rating system to rank players based on game results.
How Elo Works
Every player starts with a rating of 1500. After each game, the winner gains points and the loser loses points. The amount depends on the difference in ratings between the two players:
- Beat a higher-rated player? You gain more points.
- Beat a lower-rated player? You gain fewer points.
- Lose to a higher-rated player? You lose fewer points.
- Lose to a lower-rated player? You lose more points.
This ensures that ratings reflect true skill over time.
Venue vs. Global Leaderboard
The leaderboard has two views:
- Venue – Shows rankings for players at your home venue only. This is the default if you have a home venue set.
- Global – Shows all players across all venues.
Use the toggle at the top of the leaderboard page to switch between views.
